PTIC Shorthorn cows topped at $2660 while PTIC Poll Hereford heifers sold at $1560 among the 500 head yarding at the Dunedoo store cattle sale last Thursday.
Venue for two herd dispersals, the sale featured 115 Shorthorn cows three to 12 years, EU accredited from Todd and Sara Fergusson, Moreton Bay South, Dunedoo, while the Sweeney family dispersed their Pinehurst Partnership herd of Angus and Murray Grey cows three to eight years.
Twenty-five Shorthorn cows, three-years joined to Yamburgan and Futurity bulls and covered by a Wagyu bull sold at $2660 while another 14 older cows PTIC to same the Shorthorn sires to calve May/June made $1800.
A draft of 25 older PTIC cows sold to a Wellington buyer at $1520 each.
Among the Pinehurst consignment 12 Angus cows, three to eight years of Willooka and Ben Nevis blood, PTIC made $2140 to a Coonabarabran restocker while 10 Murray Grey/Angus cows, five years, PTIC sold at $2010 to the same buyer.
Wellington b red16 Poll Hereford heifers PTIC to Kenny Creek Angus sires to calve July/August were bought by a Tooraweenah restocker for $1560 each.
McClure family, “Willunga”, Cassilis, sold 40 Poll Hereford steers 7-9 months at $970 each, heifers at $890.
