The results of a post-mortem on a body found at Laggan on Wednesday may not be known until later this week.
Police have said the post-mortem will likely identify the body of an adult female found in a disused water tank on a property at Cummins Road, Laggan as that of Jillian Fahey, 50, who had been missing since April 16.
But the post-mortem results may not be known until later this week.
Hume LAC acting Superintendent Andrew Koutsoufis reiterated on Friday that there was no evidence to suggest foul play or suspicious circumstances surrounding the case.
“Police are not treating it as suspicious. There is no evidence to suggest foul play. There are no suspicious circumstances,” Superintendent Koutsoufis said.
“The results of the post mortem will not be released until late next week.”
Superintendent Koutsoufis confirmed the Fahey family had been told.
