FROM twilight markets and a silent disco to gourmet food, mulled wine and craft beers, there will be something for everyone at the Bathurst Winter Festival’s Brew and Bite night on Saturday.
Brew and Bite will showcase some of the Central West’s finest wines, beers and food from 5pm to 9pm.
Tony Hatch and Liz McFarland will bring Vale Creek Wines to the Bathurst Winter Festival for a third consecutive year, showcasing their fine Italian wines.
“It’s a great initiative by council,” Mr Hatch said. “We’re always surprised and delighted with the success it generates.
“Our mulled wine is highly successful and that’s why council has a dedicated mulled wine stand this year.
“Our wine is always popular and we have great local support.”
Mr Hatch, who is also the Bathurst Regional Vignerons Association president, said small businesses recognised the value of the event.
“On behalf of the vineyards of Bathurst, the event is very much appreciated. What council is doing is supporting the local vineyard industry,” he said.
“It’s great to see Bathurst coming out in the middle of winter to enjoy our wines.”
Vale Creek Wines, which has been in operation since December 2005, is based on Cow Flat Road, Georges Plains.
Orange-based eatery Smoking Brothers Catering will make the trip to Bathurst for Brew and Bite for the second consecutive year.
Owner Ben Allcock said the event proved extremely popular last year.
“There’s a lot of people that come out for the festival and it’s a really well-run event,” he said.
“There’s a good mix of stalls, with beers, wine and drinks, with the ice rink adding to the night.”
Smoking Brothers Catering, which has been in operation for more than two years, offers American barbecue and New Orleans-style comfort food.
Bathurst mobile food van Twisted Chip will also be at Brew and Bite on Saturday, with owner Ann Parker bringing her business for the third straight year.
“It’s a great festival. The crowds are fantastic,” she said.
Last Saturday’s Ignite the Night festival evening attracted a crowd estimated to be 10,000.
