Women in Business (Wagga Wagga) is renowned for creating memorable events to assist women become confident about themselves in both their professional and personal lives. The Winter Dinner at Borambola Wines, Sturt Highway, was yet another successful event hosted by outgoing president, Genevieve Fleming.
The guest speaker, Sue Currie and formerly from Wagga Wagga, is a journalist and broadcaster based on the Gold Coast. Her topic of Personal Branding challenged the audience of 85 women to devote time to focusing on the impressions they leave with other people.
“What we think of ourselves – are we credible, reliable, honest, exciting, approachable – may be different to how others see us. This is where and how the impressions we create often are long lasting but may be different from what and how others see us,” Ms Currie explained.
“The most important question to ask yourself is ‘what is it I want to be known for?’” she suggested.
“What is your Emotional Selling Point as people connect through their feelings most of the time and especially when buying something – an idea, a service or a tangible product.”
