SCHOLARSHIPS are now open for application at The Glennie School in Toowoomba, providing part remission for tuition fees making a Glennie education accessible to help as many girls as possible to be ‘All She Can Be’.
The Glennie School is a diocesan owned Anglican school for girls, providing an excellent education for prep, primary and secondary students, with boarding available from Year 6.
A range of scholarships are available to girls entering Years 7 and 10 and reflect the supportive and inclusive approach the Glennie School has to education.
All scholarships offered are for 25 percent, 33% or 50% off tuition and boarding.
This is except for the Helene Orton scholarship, which may be up to 75% off tuition and boarding.
Applications for the 2019 school year can now be made via The Glennie School website, with students permitted to apply for more than one category.
Just one scholarship can be awarded per student.
Scholarship tests will be held at The Glennie School in 2018, administered by The Australian Council for Education Research (ACER) and supervised by Glennie teachers on test day.
Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the principal, for a period of three years and, following a successful progress review, are continued until the end of Year 12.
Scholarship categories include academic, boarding, sports/performance, Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association (ICPA), Glennie Old Girls’ Association (GOGA), performing arts (Helene Orton scholarship), chaplaincy and financial need.
Academic scholarships are awarded based on academic reports.
Sports/performance scholarships are based on a combination of academic, sporting or cultural talents.
ICPA scholarships are available to the daughter of a current financial member of the ICPA who is entering Year 7, while GOGA scholarship applications are available to girls entering Year 7 with a previous family connection to The Glennie School, such as a mother or grandmother being a past student.
Performing arts scholarships are based on audition, achievements and financial need.
Chaplaincy scholarships are awarded to a practising Anglican girl in any grade.
These require a written reference from the parish Priest and may be for up to 50% of tuition and boarding.
Boarding at Glennie offers girls friendship, support and independence, with a close connection with family life – a home away from home.
Glennie boarding offers the best accommodation and amenities in Toowoomba.
There are a number of options from full-time to weekly.
