TAMWORTH Regional Livestock Exchange (TRLX) will get another boost next year, having been granted $600,000 to expand the capacity of the existing truck wash facility.
The grant comes from the NSW Government’s Fixing Country Truck Washes program.
TRLX was only opened in 2013, but the owners of the saleyard, Regional Livestock Exchange, say they are committed to reinvesting back into the facility.
That means TLX will co-invest in the upgrades allowing the Tamworth facility to handle not only the regions livestock transport vehicles, but also trucks of all shapes and sizes that support and service a diverse range of businesses within the region.

Truck washes play an important role in vehicle productivity and maintenance, as well as protecting NSW’s biosecurity.
The Fixing Country Truck Washes program contributes to the cost of constructing or upgrading truck wash facilities to help remove bottlenecks that constrain logistic businesses and protect NSW against the spread of weeds and disease.
RLX representative Garry Edwards said this investment was part of a broader service offering that will be rolled out during the next 12 months at the Tamworth facility.
“It is pleasing to see that both the State and Federal Government and the Tamworth Regional Council have thrown their support behind the TRLX facility by co-investing in critical infrastructure for the benefit of the entire region,” Mr Edwards said.
“The TRLX truck wash capacity has now been future proofed for all transport operators, whether they are livestock transporters or other heavy vehicle businesses operating in the region.”
Mr Edwards said RLX was grateful for the ongoing support from Tamworth Regional council and NSW member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson.
TRLX now ranks as one of the top five saleyards in NSW for overall throughput.
