Racing Orange hosted a family fun day at Towac Park over the New Year’s long weekend. The shaded gardens and the relaxed atmosphere was the best bet of the day with many getting together with family and friends to enjoy a few post-Christmas refreshments.
The children were also not forgotten with a jumping castle and some incredible face painting on offer. The winners came from far and wide including Radetzky for Gary Portelli as well as Global Rocket and Sacred Edge for Clare Cunningham with both trainers based at Warwick Farm.
While I Am The Rock made the trip from Bendigo worthwhile for Brian Gentle. Bathurst trainer, Peter Stanley was also delighted with Dungannon’s win as was Wayne Collison from Narromine when Magic Over The Bay cruised to the line in his second consecutive win over 2100 metres.
Fame Shines trained by Scott Singleton at Hawkesbury gave apprentice Deanne Panya her first win of the day which was quickly followed with another in the next race when she was aboard Radetzky. Fellow jockey Rory Hutchings also enjoyed the trip to Orange with a double aboard the Clare Cunningham trained Global Rocket and Sacred Edge.
