Thousands of visiting and Riverina cowboys and cowgirls flocked to the The Gil Mathew Wagga Pro Rodeo on Saturday.
For some, it was a chance to cheer on their home-town competitors while others enjoyed a day out filled with family fun.
Whatever the attraction, there was plenty of action as the talented stock took to the main stage.
Organiser John Gill said numbers were up on previous years with about 5000 people heading to the Equex Centre.
“We had very good weather which helps, we had a sold out crowd,” he said.
“We’ve never had decent weather before, there’s usually a threat of rain.”
Mr Gill said the standard of competition also helped to bring people in, with visitors from as far as Western Australia and central Queensland.
“The crowd are to be congratulated on the way they sat until the very end,” he said.
“Not one person left until the last bull bucked.
“That’s always a sign of a good rodeo.”
Mr Gill said the rodeo was incident free and everyone was now on their way back home to prepare for the next event.
