ALBURY landmark Soden’s Hotel could change hands twice in just over two years with present owners, Australian Venue Co, confirming plans to sell the property.
Soden’s is one of Albury’s biggest pubs on the corner of Wilson and David streets and underwent a multi-million dollar refurbishment in recent years.
AVC has appointed JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group’s Mathew George to sell the hotel with bids via expressions of interest closing in late March.
“Whilst AVC continues to grow, there are sometimes venues that no longer fit the company’s criteria,” Mr George said.
“Some pubs are more suited to an individual approach where a single or small multi-operator with flexible trade contracts can have a better impact in the community.
“The national expressions of interest campaign will be widely promoted and we would expect keenly contested as soon as owner-operators, up and coming venue managers, chefs and anyone else in the hospitality industry from all over the country make contact with me and get an appreciation of what they could be buying for such a small outlay.”
The pub’s features include a large bistro, bar, additional dining areas, function room, children’s indoor playground, sports bar, TAB, beer gardens, 16 poker machines and drive-through bottle shop.
The duo have since opened Public House in Dean Street.
