SUPPLY surged to an unexpected 6773 head for the monthly Carcoar store sale last Friday on the back of the dry summer.
Traditionally, the April store and weaner sales are when numbers balloon on the Central Tablelands, however weaners that would normally be reserved for those special sales were offloaded a month early.

The bulk of the weaners were Angus or Angus-cross with a C2 muscle/fat score.

Weaner steers more than 280kg started about the $1000 mark and topped at $1150 for heavy Angus.
On and cents a kilogram basis, the bulk of the weaner steers sold for between 330c/kg and 380c/kg.
Most of the weaner heifers sold from $625 to $865, although one pen of Angus hit $920/head.
Feeder type steers up to 400kg sold from $1010 to $1150.
The small yarding of yearling steers mostly sold from $760 to $1202, while yearling heifers ranged from $720 to $1190.
