Women from throughout the central west and beyond gathered for the second annual International Women’s Day Event held in Eugowra last week.

Hosted by local accounting, bookkeeping and business advisory firm, MBC, the event aimed at assisting to secure the future of farming with women on the land.

MBC operations and support manager, Kate Schofield, explained the event was again “hugely successful” with speakers handpicked to inspire delegates to improve their health and well-being along with their work-life balance.

“Attendees enjoyed a full day of information, fun, meeting new people, and excellent food at the renowned ‘Eat Your Greens’ function centre,” Kate explained.

“The keynote speaker Airlie Trescowthick, Founder and managing director of The Farm Table, was an inspiration to all.

“Airlie’s passion and dedication lit the energy in the room which flowed throughout the day as presenters brought together fundamental information in relation to key pressure points for women in our region.

“The day was both motivating and practical featuring some of the most extraordinary women in the region and the industry highlighting issues such as entrepreneurship, work-life balance, financial fitness, relationships, success, mental and physical fitness.

“The day was a great opportunity for women to get together and take home some great ideas to implement in their work and personal lives.

“Thank you to everyone who came along to make the day such a success. We would also like to thank ‘Eat Your Greens’ for their professionalism and our fantastic speakers - Dr Josephine Braid, Alex Hicks from Extraordinary Pork, Kim Broomby from Active Farmers Network, MBC Director – Ben Wright, and Orange Region Tourism’s general manager Caddie Marshall for being our MC.”
