For 94 years the community of Manly has supported country children to gain access to much-needed health care.
Building on this strong tradition, Royal Far West will be holding a series of events to show how it is making a difference to country families while raising money to support its programs at the same time.
Tomorrow (March 25), Royal Far West will throw open the doors at Manly from 11am to 3pm and welcome people to look behind the scenes with a stunning archival photo exhibition, history tours, emotional regulation workshops for parents and teachers, a sausage sizzle, games for the kids, Easter eggs, a raffle with fantastic prizes, and VIP guests.
From Monday to Friday the Royal Far West is hosting City to Country Week where the whole Manly community is coming together to raise funds for country kids.
By visiting one or more venues on its trail map (see business list below), people can purchase a special dish or drink with proceeds going towards Royal Far West.
While you are there post a picture of your purchase and #forcountrykids on social media to be in the chance to win one of the daily prizes.
Royal Far West CEO Lindsay Cane said the open day was an opportunity for people to see where and how we work.
“We’re excited to share not only our history and impact of our work, but also to introduce our new facilities, currently under construction,” Ms Cane said.
“We’re grateful for the support of local Manly businesses, and the contribution they are making to fundraising for country kids.”

Why Royal Far West?
Did you know that children living in remote communities can be up to 10 times more vulnerable than children living in Manly?
When children in rural and remote areas have health and developmental problems, the right help can be a long way away.
This means that they are more likely to struggle at school, have difficulty making friends, hold down a job, experience mental health problems or commit suicide.
With intervention it can be turned around.
It is estimated that last year 100,000 developmentally vulnerable children couldn’t access the health services they needed, because of where they live.
Royal Far West helps to assess, treat and support children and families with access to over 70 medical and allied health professionals.
