The Hayes family from Llandovery Illawarras, Girgarre, Victoria, has had an incredible Sydney Royal Show, taking home both the junior champion and senior champion Illawarra female awards.
With quality not quantity, the Illawarra show had around 16 exhibits from studs in NSW and Victoria, that were officiated by the vice-president of the Queensland branch of the Illawarra Society, Greg English, from Malanda, Qld.
Senior champion and best senior udder was awarded to LLandovery Jacob Stella 822nd, by Llandovery Jacob Sam from Llandovery Plummers Stella the 822.
Their junior champion female was Llandovery Foremans Emma 1906th. By Llandovery Stells Foreman from Llandovery Empires Emma, the young heifer was commended for her style and structure.
Reserve senior champion Illawara female was awarded to Kangawarra Buttercup 4026, exhibited by Reg Cochrane Pastoral Pty Ltd, Pyree.
Sun Vale Kian Peta from Sun Vale Holsteins, Yarroweyah, Vic, received an honourable mention for the senior section. By Siemers McCutch Kian from Sun Vale Jon Peta, the female was a four-year-old.
Reserve champion junior Illawarra female went to Kangawarra Princess 4697, a 22-month-old entry from Reg Cochrane Pastoral Pty Ltd.
Rounding up the junior section was Mark and Robert Wilson, Jamberoo, with their entry Jamber Royal Plum that received an honourable mention.
The pen of three females class were won by Reg Cochrane Pastoral Pty Ltd, Pyree, with their group.
