Ryan Carpenter from Wilberforce has claimed the RAS Youth Show champion parader title following a big week in the big smoke.
Taking part in the competition for the first time, Mr Carpenters passion, determination and hard work comes from his pop, Geoff Ridge, from Ridgeview Limousins, Freemans Reach.
I became involved with and started showing cattle when pop bought his first stud bull and decided to show it, he said.
Limousins are his main breed but he has shown and worked with Charolais, Red Angus, Simmental, Hereford and Speckle Park animals across the state.
"We attend local shows including Luddenham, Castle Hill Hawkesbury, Camden and Taree, as well as the Sydney Royal Show and junior shows such as the Limousin Youth Show, Charolais Youth Show, Angus Youth Roundup and the National All Breeds Junior Heifer Show (NABJHS), he said.
Apart from this big win, the 16-year-old's achievements to date include winning champion sub-intermediate parader at the NABJHS in 2017, a previous first place in the junior paraders competition at Sydney and many class wins and champions at local shows.
Mr Carpenter was also successful in the 2018 RAS/ASC beef cattle paraders final receiving second place in an extremely tough heat. He was second in class at the 2018 Angus Youth Roundup in Wodonga, Victoria.
Tying in with his love of cattle, he has found a love for auctioning items off which has led him to be named the champion auctioneer at the NABJHS two years running.
Mr Carpenter hopes to continue building his knowledge and skill-set to one day become a stock and station agent to service both the commercial and stud stock industries.
My major goal is to one day win the Young Auctioneers Competition at the Sydney Royal Show, and travel the world to see and assess cattle and international genetics, he said.
The RAS Youth Show was judged by Scott Myers, Myers Limousins, Moss Vale. Reserve champion parader went to Lauren Moody, Narromine, who was also the overall champion junior judge of the RAS Youth Show.
