THREE NSW studs will come together to offer leading Red Angus genetics in the inaugural Red Reflections Red Angus Genetics Sale at Tamworth on April 21.
Goonoo Red Angus, Tamworth; Fishington Red Angus, Wongwibinda; and Yallambee Red Angus, Berrima, will offer 27 registered Red Angus females, 30 commercial Red Angus females and two pick of the herd flush opportunities.
The sale is to be interfaced with Elite Livestock Auctions, with registration required prior to the event.
Sale organiser Graham Jordan, Goonoo stud, said the establishment of the new female sale was due to demand from people who were looking for good quality females to set up their own Red Angus studs.
“There’s been interest in having a sale like that, to give other people the opportunity to establish new studs and grow the breed,” Mr Jordan said.
“That’s the idea – to help young people start their own studs with some good Red Angus bloodlines.
“Interest for the sale has been very good, coming from breeders in NSW, Victoria and into Queensland.
“And we’ve also got interest from Western Australia for the two embryo flushes.”
The sale is at the Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre, Tamworth, on April 21, beginning at 11am.
Interested buyers will have the opportunity to inspect sale lots from 3pm on Friday, April 20, and a meet and greet barbecue will be held onsite at 5.30pm.
