THE annual picnic races at the small town of Tomingley in the state’s Central West drew a large crowd from far and wide for a great day of racing and fashion.
Nyngan trainer Rodney Robb achieved a career-first, training four winners in a row, with his final winner of the day being Rusty Motorbike in the Alkane Resources Tomingley Picnic Cup over 1500m.
The pick of the field in the ladies fashion stakes was Anna Barwick who travelled from Walcha to her former hometown, while John Treloar from Sydney was the standout for the men.
Lily Peters and Liz Ward from Parkes were the judges pick for the titles of fantastic filly and magnificent millinery respectfully.
Champion colt for 2018 was Edward Treloar from Canberra with Greta Treloar and Phil Balding also from Canberra named this year’s dressed to impress couple.
