From the Red Arch Cafe all the way across to Phillip Street, Orange Showgrounds is a frenzy of movement and noise ahead of the 146th Orange Show.
Nearly every patch of grass is taken up by a ride, vendor or truck, and in the hours leading up to the Show’s opening on Saturday morning, showmen and women are dancing about in a rush to get everything ready for the Show.
The Orange Show is open from 7am to 9pm on Saturday and 9am to 4pm on Sunday. Fireworks 7.30pm Saturday. Tickets at the gate, adults $15, children $8.
SATURDAY
- 7am: Pavillions open
- 8.30am: Cattle judging
- 9am: Horse events commence
- 9am: Australian Stock Horse
- 9am: Show jumping
- 9am: Cage birds judging
- 9.30am: Poultry judging
- 10am: Dog ring commences
- 10am: Sheep judging
- 11am: Master stockman and junior showgirl
- 2pm: Grand Parade and Opening, presentation of Show Girls
- 7.30pm: Monster fireworks
