An artist who swapped the “hipster belt” of Sydney’s inner west for the picturesque plains of the Riverina will showcase his unique artwork at a special exhibition at TAFE NSW Wagga’s Gallery 43 this month.
Gregory Carosi, whose contemporary, minimalist style has attracted art buyers from across the nation, will launch his Expanse exhibition at Gallery 43 on 23 May.
Four years ago, Mr Carosi took a bold career gamble, shifting from Sydney to Wagga to sharpen his creative focus and, true to his minimalist ethos, leave the distractions of the city behind.
‘I wanted to leave those connections behind and open up space, both mentally and geographically, for that creative process,” Mr Carosi said.
“The opportunities for exhibiting my work and developing my own career are also far bigger and more numerous in a regional context than in the city.”
Expanse is the first major exhibition of the year for TAFE NSW Wagga’s Gallery 43 and will run until 8 June.
