The popular wheelbarrow races returned to the Brewarrina track at this year’s Cod Cup meeting. The crowd were not disappointed with a number of spills and a hotly contested final which saw Brad and Meghan Walker cross the line ahead of Brad and Anna Boland, Ben Turnbull and Megan Cusack.
Una Taylor from Bourke was named the best classically dressed lady while Brewarrina local, Jess Payton the best cutting edge racewear.
Brother and sister, Scott and Lisa Robinson from Cobar took home the prizes for the best dressed gent and millinery. With Pippa Turnbull and Trae Riely from Brewarrina, the judge’s choice for the best dressed junior racegoers.
The Brewarrina RSL Club Patrons Cup over 1200m was won by Still Undaunted who is trained in Scone by Brett Cavanough and was ridden by stable jockey Billy Cray.
