Lachdale stud’s debut at the 57th annual Herefords Australia Dubbo Poll Hereford National re-wrote the fixture’s record book when studmaster, Lachie Scurr, Texas, Queensland, paraded a lone entry, Lachdale Mindblower M003 (P), to take out junior and grand champion awards.
The 21 month-old son of Kidman Outlook F54 (P) and from Lachdale Matchless E01,a daughter of Mr Scurr’s foundation stud female Tahlan Matchless B32, wieghed 974 kilograms and displayed at 134 square centimetre eye muscle area (EMA) had earlier won junior championship.
Other champions included Supple Mally 077, Intermediate section broad ribbon winner shown by Ben and Leanne Rumbel, Supple stud, Guyra, while senior champion award went to Rayleigh Magnum M009, shown by the Holcombe family, Rayleigh stud, Burren Junction.
Of the 119 bulls entered 23 were withdrawn leaving 96 to parade before the judge David Smith, Palgrove Charolais, Ben Lomond.
Reserve champions :- junior – JTR Patrick M05 shown by Tim and Jemma Reid, Roslyn; intermediate – Supple Meteor M171 shown Ben and Leanne Rumbel; senior – Gundongs Marksman M03, Glen Pugh, Tomingley.
The National’s sale will commence at 10am Tuesday, June 5, at Dubbo showground.
