Mala-Daki is a family run operation established in the early 1990s, which breeds black, red and traditional Simmentals and SimAngus cattle at Bunnan.
Stud principals Jason and Jacqui Impey are committed to producing moderately framed, structurally correct cattle with ideal temperament and carcase traits.
The stud’s motto is ‘Let a Mala-Daki bull steer you in the right direction’, and the stud has had its own success with carcase competitions, recently being warded a first place carcase and two silver medals in the 2018 Sydney Royal Purebred Carcase Competition.
On display on day six of Northern Beef Week will be a selection of bulls and females, with some being offered for sale on the day.
It’s the stud’s first time in Northern Beef Week after moving from Crookwell last year.
“We’ve been part of Southern Beef Week for a number of years, and after coming up to this area, it’s a good way of introducing ourselves to new clients from northern areas,” Mrs Impey said.
The stud, which includes 170 breeders, uses Australian and Canadian genetics, and has the exclusive rights in Australia for the use of semen from KOP Spartan 113A and RJY Shock n Awe 5D.
”They have both performed very well in Canada, and a Spartan calf was the reserve calf champion at Beef Australia, so it’ll be nice to see some of those Shock and Awe calves on the ground this year,” Mrs Impey said.
