COMMERCIAL and stud beef producers in the states north are preparing for one the industrys biggest events of the year, the 2018 Ausmection Northern Beef Week, held from June 25 to July 1.
Sixty studs representing 17 beef breeds in the New England, North West, Upper Hunter, and North Coast will open their farm gates to visitors as part of the seven-day event, organised and hosted by The Land newspaper.
Each stud will open for one day during the week, with their gates open from 9am to 4pm.
Event organiser Kirra Kelly, national livestock representative for The Land based at Tamworth, said it was welcoming to see an influx of new studs participating in an event that aims to connect buyers and sellers, despite widespread drought conditions.
The essence of Northern Beef Week is to give consumers, breeders, producers, processors and all other beef industry delegates the opportunity to see, smell and touch the product of northern NSW beef producers operations, Mrs Kelly said.
Beef week gives visitors the perfect opportunity to compare stock against contemporaries and other breeds.
Visitors can view the program for Northern Beef Week on the The Lands website, which contains a location map, stud profiles, contact details and photos.
