STANDOUTS of the Shorthorn breed including both Sydney Royal Show junior and senior/grand champions were among the 124 bulls that paraded before Stephen Peake, Barraba, at the 59th Dectomax National Shorthorn show fixture at Dubbo on Tuesday.
Tarraganda GG Megabyte M11 (Sydney junior) from Morris family, Young, with Bayview Abraham M108, Thompson family, Yorktown, South Australia and Royalla Tremain M260 from the Job family, Yeoval, stood against Sydney Royal’s best, Nagol Park XLT M104.
But the Nagol Park bull shown by Roger and Niaomi Evans and family, Tamworth, took out the gong.
Top-priced heifer at $8000 was Trojon Phyllis N52, from Trent and Kimberly Johnstone, Trojon stud, Lyndhurst, and purchased by a Western Australian buyers - Kevin & Robyn Yost, Liberty Shorthorns, Toodyay.
Second top at $5250 was Warraberry Freda N135 purchased by Sprys Shorthorns.
