BUDDING photographers from the dairy industry can show off their skills this month, with agricultural machinery dealer O’Connors offering more than $2000 worth of prizes in a competition shining a spotlight on dairy farmers.
The photography competition, which will be run on the company’s website, calls for entrants to “show us your cow”, and offers a Case IH esky per week for four weeks to dairy related images with the most public votes.
These four finalists will then be in the running to win a 2.0KVA petrol inverter generator, worth $900.
O’Connors marketing director Lisa Day said the dairy industry is surfing some ups and downs at the moment and the competition is about starting conversations with everyone who is passionate about dairying.
“We’re not about the politics. We know it’s a tough game to be in and we wanted to come up with something to add positivity to the dialogue,” said Ms Day.
Family-owned O’Connors has a 54-year history of being committed to community. It’s well known as a broadacre specialist however, said Ms Day, it has plenty to offer farmers from a variety of agricultural industries.
“With six branches across South East Australia and the backing of machinery leader Case IH, O’Connors is here for farmers of all industries and that includes dairy,” she said.
The competition kicked off on Thursday, June 14, and is open for four weeks.
