A MAJOR push to improve collaboration between business and the government needs to be undertaken, says NSW Farmers South West regional services coordinator Daniel Brear.
“We need to get back to the grassroots,” he said, “young people need access to meaningful education and tertiary education opportunities”. Mr Brear’s job has him on the road much of the time and as such he sees major issues such as water access and right to farm matters being played out on a daily basis.
He said agriculture played a huge role in regional NSW and that membership in NSW Farmers opened doors for people to become involved in issues at a state level.
At The Next Crop forum in Griffith, Mr Brear said “the people in this room need to engage with everyone, you have a great cross section of the community here”.
He said better collaboration was the key to solving problems both old and new and the time to act was now.
