Respected Riverina Merino and Shorthorn breeder, Bob Rollinson, returned to Dubbo’s Shorthorn National last week and took back three bulls for the family’s Goolgumbla herd at Jerilderie.
Paying an average of $12,333, he bought two bulls from the Thompson family’s Bayview stud, Yorketown, South Australia, and another from Eselar Park stud of Scott Ridley Partners, Condobolin.
The Bayview duo included the $16,000 Bayview Associate M62 by Sprys Annies Legend F98, a third placegetter in a senior class, and the $8000 Bayview Regal M127 by Bayview Tradition J83 by the Sprys Annie Legend F98,
Regular successful vendors at Dubbo, this year the Thompson family sold five bulls topping at $16,0000 to average $12,400 including the Division 2 champion, Bayview Abraham M108, selling for $12,000 to the Rowan family, Glenlyon Shorthorns, Terip Terip via Yarck, Victoria.
Eselar Park RR Mysterious M192, the Division 2 reserve champion sired by Royalla Rory K106, a son of Futurity Fully Loaded F109, was the third Goolgumbla purchase at $13,000.
Ridley family
Dubbo National stalwarts, Condobolin’s Ridley family, this year was represented by Nero, Logan Farm, KO and Eselar Park studs which sold a combined total of 13 bulls topping at $13,000 and averaging $5385.
In 2011 the Rollinsons paid $17,000 for the Division 2 champion, Nero Lock Enhance E097.
