Top studs in the Walcha, Uralla and Bundarra districts were on show for day two of the Ausmectin Northern Beef Week. The event continues through to Sunday, July 1.
Studs on display on day two included the Walcha area studs of Ben Nevis Angus, Kilburnie Angus and Red Angus, Nairn Park Angus and Southcote Shorthorns; Matoni Angus at Uralla; Rocala Wagyus at Niangala; and Glenwarrah Herefords and Brooksby Angus at Bundarra.
Beef Week is used by stud and commercial breeders as a genetics “supermarket” to see the latest bloodlines and livestock on offer.
It is also particularly useful for beef producers to see what’s on offer for upcoming on-property bull sales and is often used to earmark some early potential selections to come back and have a closer look at on sale day.
Those keen to visit any of the open days can get directions and information about which studs are open by clicking here.
The event is sponsored by Ausmectin and continues through to Sunday, taking in studs across the New England, North West, Hunter Valley and North Coast.
