Annaleisha Nowlan couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw a bull walking down Russell Island’s High Street on Sunday morning.
“We were just going to the shops and it was taking a casual stroll,” Ms Nowlan said.
Russell Island is the biggest of the Southern Moreton Bay Islands, situated between the mainland Queensland and North Stradbroke Island.
Ms Nowlan, who was back visiting her mother, said she had lived on Russell Island without ever having seen a bull.
“We were just amazed to see it walking along the road in front of the school.”
Ms Nowlan said a few other motorists also stopped to take in the unusual sight.
In response to social media posts about the wandering bull, residents explained the animal’s owner had been away but the bull had been put into a paddock.
In the pun frenzy that followed, Greg Hartay-Szabo commented: “It undenia-bully shows that on these islands, everything is possi-bull.”
