President of the Duck Creek committee Rowen Cleaver said its been a “fantastic day” for everyone, and is proud to see so many men and women supporting the day.

And it hasn’t just been Nyngan locals flocking to Duck Creek.

The day continues to be a big draw card for the town, attracting hundreds of people from elsewhere, many of whom would not otherwise visit the town.

“We work very hard at that, to make it a friendly, happy day with well-priced drinks and well-looked after [guests] so they come back again,” Mr Cleaver said.

“This year it’s been fantastic to see so many people here, especially for such a good cause.”

Meanwhile, singer Shannon Noll was a the centre of a social media storm after being involved in a tirade on a punter in the crowd who threw a beer at him.

Singer Shannon Noll later apologised for his behaviour at Nyngan’s Duck Creek picnic races on Saturday night.

During his highly anticipated gig, a member of the 5000 strong crowd threw a beer at the singer.

The action sent Noll into a swearing and abusive filled tirade, which was caught on film by a Narromine local. The video has had close to half a million views on Monday morning.

“Whoever threw that, come up here,” he said to the crowd.

On Sunday evening Noll issued an apology via his Facebook page.

“I would like to apologise for my behaviour and language at Saturday night’s Duck Creek Picnic Races,” he said.
