Landholders in the Riverina can pick up ten free paddock trees by visiting their closest Riverina Local Land Services office from July 23 to 27.
With National Tree Day marked for Sunday July 29, Riverina Local Land Services will have tubestock suitable to the varied growing conditions across the region available to landholders in the week leading up.
"We have assorted paddock trees available - in the western part of our region around Hay and Griffith we have species like grey box, white cypress pine, river red gum and boree ready, and in the eastern area around Young and Gundagai we have red box and yellow box to name a few," said Manager Land Services Andrew Lieschke.
"We would love to see farmers come and collect their trees and they can ask us any questions on other things while they're there."
"There's no need to call beforehand, we will have plenty of stock available."
Landholders could use the trees to establish isolated paddock trees, infill planting in existing revegetation or restoration sites, or establish a small cluster planting, Mr Lieschke said.
Along with the tubestock, landholders would also receive guards and planting information.
Trees will be available at the Riverina Local Land Services offices at Gundagai, Griffith, Hay, Narrandera, Wagga and Young.
Landholders can drop in between 8:30am and 5pm from Monday 23 July to Friday 27 July.
