“As he put on weight he was still maintaining his excellent structure and conformation,” he said.
“We will be offering him for sale during the Australian Dorset Championships in Bendigo in September.
Reserve champion ram was awarded to the Armstrong family, Armdale stud, Marrar.
Champion ewe exhibited by the Frost family, Hillden stud, Crookwell had been successful in the pair of ewes under one and half year – shorn.

Reserve champion ewe was exhibited by Close family, Closeup stud, Finley.
In the Ian Bucknall Trophy for bare shorn ram under one and half year, Scott Mitchell awarded first to Derby Downs Poll Dorset stud, Marong, Victoria ahead of the Hillden stud, Crookwell while the Valley Vista stud, Coolac, showed the third placed ram.
“He has great thickness through his barrel, and a beautiful topline,” Mr Mitchell said when making his announcement to the exhibitors and onlookers.
“He is very good on his feet, and well balanced for a young ram showing so much growth.”
