Today was the biggest day of Ausmectin Southern Beef Week with 12 studs opening their gates to offer fresh genetics and the opportunity to look through sale drafts and talk cattle in the Southern Tablelands and Highlands areas.
Breeds and studs on show included; Bannaby Angus at Taralga, Greenleaf Angus at Crookwell, JTR Cattle Company’s Poll Herefords/Angus at Rosyln, KO Angus at Kangaloon, Six Star Speckle Parks at Bundanoon, Spring Hill Highland Angus at Woodlands, The Pines Pastoral Angus at Moss Vale, Valley Creek Simmentals at Bowral, Wynella Poll Herefords/Angus at Goulburn North, Yallambee Red Angus at Berrima, Yarrageh Devons at Tirrannaville, and Myanga Angus.
Dispite dry times and a windy cold July day a number of people took advantage of the oppotunity to get out and about and talk cattle.
Six Star Speckle Park’s Greg Ebbeck was very pleased with a big attendance at the studs second Ausmectin Southern Beef Week Open Day at “Llangothlin”, Bundanoon.
“It has been a great day we have had a lot of people through. It has been great to walk amongst the cattle with people and talk Speckles” Mr Ebbeck said.
The event concludes tomorrow, August 5, as the final four studs from the Bungendore and Cambewarra areas open their gates.
