Starting next week Central Tablelands Local Land Services (LLS) will be holding seven Seasonal Conditions workshops across the region to help landholders make informed decisions in tough times.
Senior LLS officer, Phil Cranney, Cowra, said as conditions have deteriorated, LLS is increasing its response and while it’s not for a great reason, we want to see strong turnouts at these events.
“We will have veterinarians, livestock and pasture experts there for producers who want advice on management decisions,” Mr Cranney said.
The workshops are part of LLS efforts to make it easy for landholders to have face-to-face interaction with staff.
“These events make sure Local Land Services are having meaningful connections with landholders providing them with information and support from other stakeholders in specialist areas,” he said.
Since the beginning of the year, over 2000 landholders have attended 100 LLS workshops, information sessions, ‘smokos’ and ‘cuppas’ to get advice on animal nutrition, pasture management and livestock health.
“By having these interactions, we can make sure we are providing landholders with the information and advice they need to manage their farms during these tough conditions,” Mr Cranney said.
“Our role at this time remains the same as always – to assist landholders and ensure they have as much support as possible.”
