Baringa Australian White stud scooped the pool ion ribbons and prices at the third Australian White National Show and Sale at Dubbo on Friday.
Thirty-five stud rams and 18 stud ewes competed in lamb, junior and senior classes by four studs with the Gilmore family’s Baringa stud, Oberon, taking out the majority of placings to gain the successful exhibitor award.
Baringa won all three ram age championships and the grand championship title with their junior champion which later sold for $5000 to Summit Ag Holdings, “Tyrells” Bonegilla, Victoria.
Sale topper was Baringa’s senior champion ram which sold to Tarcutta district stud and commercial breeders, Malcolm and Kerrie Plum of Kalnari stud, for $6000.
Mrs Plum said they selected the ram for his overall balance, depth and sire outlook.
Baringa stud sold five stud rams for a $3800 average.
Premier stud of Lochie and Brayden Gilmore, sold four stud rams to $3500 to average $2750 and earlier exhibited the reserve junior champion ram, a full embryo transfer (ET) brother to the junior and grand champion.
Sixteen stud rams from four studs averaged $2469.
The Rayner family’s Grathlyn stud, Hargraves, exhibited the senior and grand champion ewe.
