WITH thousands of visitors expected to descend on Gunnedah over the coming days for AgQuip, local police have warned they will be out in full force.
Police will be looking to crack down on all illegal acts during the three-day event including anti-social behavior, driving infringements and alcohol-related offences.
Gunnedah Sergeant Terry Melville said there would be a heightened police presence during the annual event.
“Despite the dry conditions, we are expecting an influx of visitors,” Sergeant Melville said.
“We want people to enjoy their stay and have fun, but we do want to warn them police will be around to ensure that everyone is doing the right thing.”

Sergeant Melville said police would conduct regular patrols across the shire throughout the event.
“There will be random breath test sites set up around town during the event,” he said.
“As well as that, every police car has the ability to test for drugs and alcohol so people can be tested at any time.
“We will also be carrying out regular venue checks in all of the licensed premises in town to ensure that venues are complying with responsible service of alcohol regulations, as well as looking out for anti-social behavior.
“People can rest assured we will be around during AgQuip.”
