PROGRESSIVE young studmasters Glen Waldron and Kim Groner, Elite Cattle Company, Murwollock, Meandarra, Queensland, made a bold move 12 months ago to host their first on-property bull sale and that decision has paid off handsomely after clearing their entire draft on Thursday.
Co-principal Glen Waldron said it has been incredibly hard work, but very rewarding at the same time especially after achieving a total clearance in such a tough season.
Sole selling agents Elders with Michael Smith in the rostrum sold a total of 49 bulls for a $5745 average which compromised 36 Charolais bulls for a $5205 average and 13 mostly black and red Simmental bulls for a creditable $7115 average.
The first Charolais bull into the ring, Elite Major League (P), attracted the $11,000 equal top money from the Benjamin family, Eringibba, Glenmorgan, Qld.
The other top selling Charaolais bull, Elite Netflix (P) (R/F), was bought by David Sullivan, Riverglen Charolais stud, Glenmorgan, Qld.
Central Highlands bullock producers Mick and Lenore Cole, Wilmor Downs, Capella, Qld, paid the $10,000 equal top black Simmental money for Elite Mega Jackpot (P) as did Olinda Grazing Company at Baralaba, Qld, for Elite Bang ‘N’ Burn.
