RETURNING clients from Victoria and NSW picked the yes out of the Winyar catalogue on Wednesday and with new buyers bought every ram offered by Allan Dawson and family, Canowindra.
The sale topped at $8500 and averaged $2823 and an extra 11 rams in reserve were also sold.
Buyers of the sale-topper, Bill and Michelle Lenehan, “East Arajoel”, Wagga Wagga, liked the scale of this son of Roseville Park Sparkles (RP110010.
“He stood well, his conformation is 100 per cent and has long staple, free-growing wool,” Mr Lenehan said.
The Lenehans have been buying at Winyar for 12 years and run 1500 ewe growing 19 micron wool nd cutting an average seven kilogram fleece.
Ben Lane, Windridge Farms, Young, has been buying here for five years and returned to buy seven rams topping at $2600 to average $2357.
Jason and Diana Tremain, Galenza Pty Ltd. “Stonehenge”, Baldry, bought 11 rams in their sixth-time purchase topping $2800 to average $2109.
The sale was conducted by Landmark, Bathurst, with Rick Power, Landmark, Boorowa, the auctioneer.
