Part of The Woolmark Company’s ongoing commitment to nurturing emerging talent includes hosting student seminars to educate the next generation about entering the fashion, textile and design industry, while inspiring them to think about using Merino wool as they embark on their career path.
The Naturally Inspiring seminars bring together industry leaders and experts to discuss and demonstrate the versatile qualities of Merino wool and its many applications. These free events are designed to inspire and educate, and are aimed at emerging designers, students, educators and those passionate about textiles, apparel and sustainability.
The most recent seminar was held in Melbourne on August 22nd. International Woolmark Prize alumni Mario-Luca Carlucci and Rong Jake Chen were amongst the panellists interviewed by Global Strategic Advisor Peter Ackroyd whilst AWI’s Kelly McAvoy spoke on wool education courses offered by The Woolmark Company and Carol Stubbs and Roy Kettlewell educated the students on the characteristics of the wool fibre and wool fabric innovations.
