THE 28th annual Noonee Angus bull sale was held recently at the Claremont, Larras Lee property of Netta Holmes Lee.
With a top price of $7000, 12 bulls cleared to average $4666.
Ms Holmes Lee thanked everyone for their continued support.
“We are very fortunate to have all of our repeat buyers,” she said.
“People commented on how beautiful the cattle are and I put this down to the result of years of breeding cattle who have the constitution to keep going in the tough times.
“We knew it would be a bit tough as so many of our clients, who are based within the Central West New South Wales, are the hardest hit in this climate. There are a lot of people with not a lot of cows.
“We will always offer top quality bulls for those who see the opportunity to get good value in a tough year.
“The cattle are early weaned and on a high roughage diet, this is the first time they have been able to get any green grass with the little rain that has fallen.
“We offer yearling bulls because they are athletic, agile and ready to work. It is because of this agility you get extra years from this end of their lives and again later.
“They do not knock the females around.”
The sale was conducted by Elders Dubbo with Andy McGeoch manning the rostrum.
