WITH bonus points on offer at the Dubbo Gold Cup Showcase raceday the central and western NSW fashionistas took to the catwalk to increase their overall points tally in the Dubbo City Turf Club Fashions on the Field Series.
With only two heats left, the Dandy Cup meeting at Narromine on October 20 and of course the Derby Day meeting at Dubbo on November 3 the competition to find the right outfit is heating up.
The top 20 ladies and the top 10 men who have competed in the series will receive an invitation to the grand final on Melbourne Cup Day to vie for the major prizes, including an $8000 ring for the ladies and $500 worth of RM Williams products for the men.
For this round the top points went to Josie Anderson and Christopher Budden with Kirsty Colliver, Lachlan Cusack, Sheridyn Ashwood and Peter Whitehead collecting points as the runners up.
On the track the Dubbo City Toyota Gold Cup was won by the Canberra-trained Disturbance, who was ridden by Mathew Cahill.
Nyngan trainer Rodney Robb once again took home the trophies in the final of the NSW Picnic Championship.
Austin a six-year-old bay gelding, who was ridden by Molly Partridge, qualified for the series final winning the Macquarie Picnic Cup at Trangie and the Mallawa Bracelet as well as a second place in the Duck Creek Picnic Cup on his home track at Nyngan.
