Next Crop forum is coming to Lismore Workers' Club, next Thursday, October 4 from 5:30pm for a 6pm start.
What is Next Crop? It's an initiative from state-wide newspaper The Land which is all about the sustainability of regional communities, how farms and towns will attract the next generation of jobs, where those people will come from and the role agriculture and associated businesses can play.
The Lismore forum will be the eighth monthly event and it hopes to link producers of innovative agriculture to make best use of future opportunity.
If it all sounds a bit "blue sky" well, that's the idea. We’re looking for your good ideas and what options are available, or in play, that are helping businesses and communities in rural areas.
Speakers will discus a range of hot topics, from social licence in a crowded world to disruptive and clever marketing. There will be people promoting new developments in farm production, soil health and amelioration. Others will talk about niche opportunities like timber, beef and berries.
The event will be moderated by well known “change negotiator” and leadership developer Allan Parker, from the Sydney-based Peak Performance Development.
Come and share your views on North Coast agriculture, regional jobs creation and community well-being. The event is open to everyone.
We are looking at vitality of business and jobs creation from farms through to businesses in the main street.
