CASSILIS Park and Mega Merinos held their annual on-property sale at the Armstrong family home at Wirroolga, Cassilis, last Thursday.
A 100 per cent clearance of 56 rams and average of $1518 was achieved.
In the breakup, 18 poll rams sold to a top of $2400 three times and an average of $1822.
Twenty-four horned rams topped at $2400 to average $1323 and 12 Mega Merino rams sold to a $2000 top twice for a $1433 average.
The first ram to achieve the top price went to Talbragar Studs, Leadville. Their draft of six rams averaged $1700.
Also to pay a top price was the Winning family, Mona Station, Bollon, Queensland, with Angus Munro purchasing on their behalf.
“They have a Dohne flock and have been using the Cassilis Park rams for about five years,” he said.
“The two top priced rams were standouts.”
Included with their draft of 10, were two Mega Poll rams. Their total draft averaged $1900.
Cassilis Park and Mega Merinos co-principal James Armstrong said it was great to achieve a full clearance.
“We had at least three new clients and our usual clients, which was great,” he said.
“This sale is one of the better ones that we have had.
“This is the first time in a while that we have had a total clearance, so that was great.”
The sale was conducted by Landmark and Elders with Brad Wilson manning the rostrum as auctioneer.
