Dubbo is gearing up to enjoy the visit by Prince Harry and his new wife Meghan Markle, now the Duchess of Sussex, with grey skies to bring in the Royal visit.
Dubbo businesses have got into the swing of things but one sign has provoked ideas that Dubbo may have had the mail on the baby on the way announcement for the Duke and Duchess.
The Orana Motel had this sign up well before the Royal announcement of a baby for the newlywed couple, that was announced by Kensington Palace on Tuesday, just as they arrived in Australia on a Qantas plane.
Prince Harry and Meghan will spend a day in Dubbo tomorrow, visiting the Royal Flying Doctor Service, overseeing a public picnic in the park and visiting a local farm to empathise with the plight of farmers coping in the drought. But it is more than likely it will be tad wet underfoot.
The forecast for Dubbo for Wednesday is “very high (90 per cent) chance of showers. The chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon and early evening”, with between 5-15mm of rain expected.
Nevertheless despite the rain, Dubbo will be overflowing with Royal enthusiasts. The Visitors Centre reporting high numbers of tourist inquiries and hotels booked out.
