Glenlea Beef is a large-scale producer of Charolais and Ultrablack bulls, and will be exhibiting at this year’s ProAg Field Days on November 2 and 3.
The business will have Charolais bulls, and Charolais and Ultrablack females on display.
Stud principal Roderick Binny said the business would have more than 100 bulls for sale in 2019.
The stud currently has 40 two-year-olds and well-grown yearlings for private sale at its Coffs Harbour and Dorrigo properties.
“Our cattle are fully performance recorded and have full carcase data,” Mr Binny said.
“The bloodlines are from a Glenlea base herd established in Tasmania in the 1970s. Glenlea cattle are noted for their early maturity, easy finishing and for their breed-leading carcase traits.”
Glenlea Beef relocated in 2010 to the New England, and it now operates three properties in the Orara Valley, west of Coffs Harbour and another at Dorrigo on Waterfall Way.
Glenlea Beef also has joint venture programs in Charolais seedstock operations at Nowra; Kerang, Meeniyan and Beaufort in Victoria; and at Texas, in Queensland, which operates as a bull depot.
The business has expanded its operations in Queensland with a large property near Theodore, which is home to Glenlea’s growing Ultrablack program.
“In addition, we also market many clients’ progeny to backgrounders, feedlots and grass finishers for premiums, in conjunction with local agents,” Mr Binny said.
“Through our processing business, Australian Grassfed Meats, we also supply premium grass-fed meat to domestic and export markets.”
