STRONG support from loyal clients, some stretching 35 years, helped the Capel family, Bungulla Merinos, Calool, Manilla, clear all but four of their rams for a $1701 average at their annual ram sale on Friday.
Selling 104 Merino rams, the sale topped at $4500 three times.
Brian Brazier, Wombang, Euchareena, who has purchased Bungulla genetics for 35 years, opened his wallet up early. He paid the top money for the first lot of the day in a 20.6 micron ram by the D/S sire.
He purchased another D/S son two lots later for the same money, this time with a 19.2 micron fleece and 99.7 per cent comfort factor.
The Lockerbie Partnership, Lockerbie, Dunedoo, were the third top price buyers, taking home an AR son with a 21.3 micron fleece and 99.1 per cent comfort factor.
The entire draft of May shorn Bungulla rams had an average fleece of 20.6 micron, comfort factor of 99.3 per cent and co-efficient of variation of 15.6.
The sale was conducted by Elders with Paul Dooley, Tamworth, as auctioneer.
