NARROMINE store sheep yarding of 2200 head attracted strong buying competition from Nyngan, Trangie and local restockers last Wednesday.
Hartin Schute Bell’s Barry Mindham, said very young lambs were keenly sought after which made for a strong sale.
“We were selling under cloud with the prospect of rain imminent,” Mr Mindham said. “That no doubt helped the sale along as it poured down just as we delivered the last pen.”
A line of 196 first-cross mixed-sex unshorn lambs of August 2018 drop selling to $64.50 for Illawong Pastoral Company, Narromine, while their second draft of 137 head sold at $61 each.
Robert Powell, Allawah, Narromine, gained $60.50 a head for 427 August’18 drop Merino wether lambs of Boxleigh Park blood while another 347 sold at $50 each.
Merino ewes, five to six years also of Boxleigh Park blood, August shorn, made $78 each while the Powell family gained $81 a head for their draft of 127.
