Applications for Sheep Producers Australia’s (SPA) two member-based board director positions close this Friday.
With current directors Allan Piggott and Ian McColl retiring from the board, the SPA is seeking applications for individuals with an understanding of the industry, practical sheep knowledge, current networks and strong national farming relationships.
SPA CEO Graham Smith said both Mr Piggott and Mr McColl were eligible to stand for re-election if they chose to.
He said they were seeking candidates who were passionate about SPA and the Australian sheep industry.
“In addition, candidates must outline their capacity as a strategic thinker and highlight how they can challenge and suggest alternatives in a collaborative manner,” he said.
The term for a member-elected director is three years commencing from their appointment.
The board meets at least six times per year, as well as for strategy workshops.
Applications must be endorsed by an authorised signatory of a SPA state member, including Agforce, NSWFarmers, Victorian Farmers Federation, Tasmania Farmer’s and Grazier’s Association, Livestock SA, WA Farmers Federation or Pastoralist and Graziers of WA.
The successful applicants will be announced at the SPA AGM on November 20 in Barton.
