The 39th annual Monaro White Wool multi-vendor ram sale held at the Cooma Showgrounds on Tuesday attracted a great deal of interest for rams from the Boudjah, Snowy Plain, Snow Vale and Main Range studs.

About 60 buyers registered to bid on the quality lots on offer.

Landmark stud stock auctioneer Rick Power, Grenfell, said the sale always attracted a large crowd and allowed local buyers to purchase from either fine, fine/medium, and medium wool lines.

Snowy Plain Merinos and Snow Vale Poll Merinos

The sale topper was offered by Michael and Katrina Hedger, Snowey Plain Merinos.

Hitting $6500, Snowey Plain 075 sold to Gordon and Jenny Crowe, Round Plain Merino Stud, Berridale.

Sired by East Strathglen 15100, the ram had a 17.1 micron fleece, 3.5 standard deviation (SD), 20.5 per cent coefficient of variation (CV), 16.6 spinning fineness (SF) and a comfort factor (CF) of 99.6pc.

Ms Crowe said the ram was very stylish with more skin, quality wool and moderate size, which would improve their stock.
