1. Instructions, prizes and information on how to enter form part of these Terms & Conditions.
Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
2. The Promoters are The Land and Good Fruit and Vegetables (Fairfax Agricultural Media),
ABN 55 000 560 430 of 159 Bells Line of Road, North Richmond, NSW 2754, 02 4570 4444.
3. The promotional period begins in The Land and Good Fruit and Vegetables on Friday, 26 October
2018, and concludes at 11.59pm AEST on Monday, 12 November 2018.
4. Directors, employees and their Immediate Family Members of the Promoters and their related
Bodies Corporate are not eligible to enter. Immediate Family Member means any of the following:
spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent,
step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister,
step-brother, step-sister or 1st cousin.
5. To enter, participants must have purchased a ticket to and be an attendee at the Next Crop Dinner,
to be held on Saturday, 24 November 2018 at Orange Ex-Services Club, 231-243 Anson Street,
Orange. Competitors enter on the night at the dinner. The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of eligibility. In the event that an entrant cannot provide satisfactory proof, the Promoter may, in absolute discretion, disqualify the entrant.
6. This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winner. Each entry will be
individually judged according to the competition guidelines as set out in these Terms & Conditions.
7. The prize will be an opportunity for a rural town (all population, housing, and territory not included
within an urban area) in New South Wales, Australia, to have The Land and behavioural scientist,
Allan Parker, join them in initiating a revitalisation project for their Community. The implementation
of the revitalisation project will need to accommodate the availability of all parties (The Land, Allan
Parker, and the majority of the stakeholder group on any one occasion).
8. The town must not be one of the two communities The Land has already selected. The names of
these towns will be announced at the Next Crop Dinner before the competition Target Your Town
Paper Plane Challenge commences.
9. Participants will be provided with one (1) standard A4 piece of paper at the event, to create a paper
plane (aircraft) with only one (1) sheet of paper allowed for the construction of the aircraft. The
sheet must be modified by folding only - no ripping, gluing, cutting, stapling or ballasting is allowed. The time limit for construction is ten (10) minutes. The aircraft may be any size or shape, excluding disks or saucers and may not utilize any spinning motion for stability (such as a Frisbee) or for any other function. The competition will consist of one (1) category: maximum distance flown.
The aircraft must be launched by one participant only and unaided from behind a straight launch line marked on the floor - participants must not overstep the marked ‘throwing line/mark’ and needs to have both feet firmly on the ground during the attempt. Passing over the launch line leads to an invalid attempt; as does touching the launch line or any point beyond, during the launch. Each distance throw must land within the marked indoor competition area (out-of-bounds aircraft will not be considered for judging).
Distance will be measured in a straight line from the throwing mark to where the plane settles on the ground (sliding distance is included), aircraft may strike inanimate objects (wall, ceiling, fixtures, floor) along the way. Cheating or tampering with the aircraft (including where it came to rest) will warrant immediate disqualification. Each participant is entitled to one throw only.
In the instance where two (2) or more aircraft measure the same landing distance, those two (2) or more participants will each be entitled to one (1) more throw (or a number of throws) until a clear winner is identified (all of the afore-mentioned rules & regulations apply for the re-throw).
10. The winning rural town and a runner-up will be announced on the evening (of the event)
and notified by telephone and email, and published in The Land and Good Fruit and Vegetables.
11. The judge’s decision is final and binding on each person who enters. No correspondence will be
entered into.
12. In the event that the winning rural town chooses to decline the prize, the runner-up will become
the competition winner.
13. The Promoters assume no responsibility for any error, defect, delay, theft or unauthorised access to
or alteration of the participant’s entry.
14. The Promoter collects personal information about you to enable you to participate in this
promotion and may use these details to contact you in the future. You can unsubscribe at any time
by contacting The Land or Good Fruit and Vegetables on 02 4570 4444.
15. The winning participant agrees to co-operate as required with all reasonable media editorial
requests relating to the prize, including but not limited to, being interviewed and photographed.
16. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoters exclude all liability (including
negligence), for any personal injury; or loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether
direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way in connection with the competition.
17. If this competition is not capable of running or being completed as planned for any reason,
including because of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention,
technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoters, the Promoters reserve
the right in their sole discretion to cancel, terminate, recommence, modify or suspend the
competition.
18. Upon commencing the revitalisation project, the persons representing the winning town on the
project agree to acknowledge and adhere to the Terms of Participation (link to go here).
19. The Land reserves the right to be the primary media company to report and promote the progress
and outcomes of the revitalisation project.
20. The Promoters may amend these Terms & Conditions from time to time at their discretion.
