The NSW Department of Industries had a good turn-out of staff and stakeholders to celebrate the organisation’s impressive display at the Australian National Field Days, held at Borenore near Orange last week.
NSW DPI’s staff, including Erika Rollin, Jamie Jones, Daniela Jolly, Simone Catorall and Kylie MacLean, got a special mention for their role in designing and setting up the display.
This featured many sections, each of which demonstrated different fields in which the department had research and engagement.
Visitors to the site were able to get an understanding of the breadth of NSW DPI’s involvement across several industries, but also meet the researchers in who specialised in each area and ask questions about the work they were conducting.
One such example was the research and development into pulses to develop snack food options to help diversify this market.
The products, while still in development, were available to sample and are also getting close to commercialisation stage.
